PROTOTYPE 2023 Bourgeois MD-O Octave Mandolin with hard case
This is a prototype of the Bourgeois Octave Mandolin. This instrumnet was preproduction and was sent to me to review but that never happened. It’s been subtly used here and there on my channel.
Everyone needs an instrument that helps them break new ground. For me, it’s been octave mandolin. It lives inbetween guitar and mandolin and it’s really sonorous and wonderful.
This prototype MDO has some crazy specs:
Adirondack spruce top
Flame maple back, sides, and neck
Stinger headstock
Justin/Bourgeois tailpiece
Condition:
Excellent with one small caveat: one of the screws holding the truss rod cover has broken leaving the screw in the headstock. Doesn’t really matter but is worth pointing out.
Added strap button on the heel of the neck.
Sounds excellent. I just don’t play it very much.
